About You:

  • 10+ years' experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a senior security advisory or principal-level role.
  • Proven experience acting as a security architect/advisor on large-scale network security programs, including at least one enterprise-wide SASE implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks and standards, including PSPF, ISM, Gateway Security Standards and Essential 8.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex security and network requirements into practical, business-aligned outcomes.
  • Extensive experience engaging and influencing senior executives and diverse stakeholder groups in fast-paced, multi-vendor project environments.
  • Strong risk-based mindset with a track record of balancing security, delivery timelines and operational requirements.
  • Australian citizen with exisiting NV1 Clearance or above.


Key Accountabilities

  • Lead security advisory and assurance activities for the Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) and SASE transformation program.
  • Embed "secure by design" principles into project delivery, including requirements gathering, architecture reviews and design assurance.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and coordinate assurance activities (e.g. IRAP preparation, external penetration testing), providing clear risk treatment recommendations.
  • Partner closely with IT, enterprise architecture, legal, procurement, P&C and external implementation partners to ensure a cohesive, risk-managed security approach.
  • Communicate security risks, strategies and decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership, and produce required security documentation and evidence.
